Dr. Kelsey Hopkins, a 2010 graduate of the Union Hospital Family Medicine Residency and former chief resident, was recently featured in a podcast hosted by Dr. Ryan Gray. Gray is a MD on staff at the University of Colorado Medical School. He hosts a very successful podcast for pre-meds and medical students on everything from MCAT preparation to medical school applications. The main idea is to give exposure to students about specialties of all kinds and help them to better understand that not everything may be what it seems out in practice. There are over 5,500 active listeners nationwide.
Hopkins, originally from Maple Park, IL, completed medical school at U of I Rockford before landing at Union Hospital Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Hopkins then joined a group practice in Greenville, IL following graduation from the program. He has recently left his group practice and opened a solo practice. His interview highlights solo rural family medicine practice as well as the importance of a strong residency training program. We are extremely proud of Dr. Hopkins's accomplishments.
